Adult Behavioral Health Crisis Center

The Crisis Center provides walk-in evaluation and treatment to assist patients in their recovery from a wide range of psychiatric conditions and emotional issues. Several services are provided including crisis psychotherapy, evidence-based screening assessments, diagnostic evaluations, short-term treatment, medication management and referral, and linkage to follow-up care. Most major insurances are accepted.
Digital Health Program

The Digital Health Program (DHP) enhances care using innovative technologies to monitor symptoms outside of regularly scheduled provider visits. DHP participants also have opportunities to participate in a variety of novel research studies exploring the role of technology in behavioral health. The DHP is open to all patients in the Adult Outpatient, Early Treatment Program, College Behavioral Health, and Bipolar Disorders outpatient clinics.
Inpatient Psychiatry Units

Individuals experiencing acute psychiatric distress are encouraged to call 911 for assistance or visit their nearest emergency room to be assessed. General inquiries about the inpatient admissions process or non-emergent questions about accessing inpatient treatment should be directed to the Zucker Hillside Hospital central intake team at the number above.
Partial Hospitalization Program

The Partial Hospitalization Program is a structured, clinically intensive outpatient program that provides a full range of services including groups, individual sessions, medication management, occupational therapy, case management and family work for adults with a wide variety of mental health conditions. It is intended to help those experiencing subacute symptoms avoid inpatient hospitalization. Patients attend the program five days a week, six hours a day for up to six weeks. Most major insurances are accepted.

The Adult Outpatient Program provides comprehensive treatment to assist patients in their recovery from a wide range of psychiatric conditions and emotional issues. Services include medication management and family/couples therapy as well as group and individual psychotherapy. Individualized treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), time-limited psychodynamic psychotherapy, exposure therapy with response prevention, trauma-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy and motivational interviewing. Most major insurances are accepted.
Child and Adolescent Services

Child and Adolescent Services provides comprehensive care to children and families managing a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties. Treatment is provided for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depressive disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorders, psychosis, suicidal behavior, non-suicidal self-injury, gender dysphoria, and complex co-occurring conditions. Services include diagnostic evaluation; evidence-based individual, group and family therapy; dialectical behavior therapy (DBT); medication management; and supportive services, including those for the LGBTQIA+ community. Behavioral Health College Partnership

Behavioral Health College Partnership (BHCP) is a unique community service program that works closely with affiliated colleges and universities and their student counseling centers to address behavioral health issues impacting undergraduate and graduate students. BHCP collaborates to provide state-of-the-art evaluation and evidence-based treatment for psychiatric crises and aftermath including post-hospitalization outpatient services. Most major insurances are accepted.
Post-hospitalization outpatient services for college students include:
- Dedicated staff with college student expertise
- Evidence-based individual and group psychotherapies
- Medication management consistent with successful inpatient treatment
- Emphasis on family-centered care and coordination with student counseling centers as needed
Better Outcomes through Ongoing Specialized Treatment

The Better Outcomes with Ongoing Specialized Treatment (BOOST) Program serves as a step-down program for the Early Treatment Program, which specializes in treating young adults with psychotic disorders and those who do not meet criteria for admission to an OnTrack program. BOOST may benefit those ages 18-40 who have been experiencing symptoms of psychosis for two or more years. The program includes an initial assessment, ongoing medication/therapy assessments and evaluations, and standardized rating scales. It may also include brief or long-term individual therapy, group therapy, family-focused therapy and cognitive remediation. Most major insurances are accepted.
Center for Research and Treatment in Bipolar Disorder

The Center for Research and Treatment in Bipolar Disorder offers individualized phone assessments followed by the administration of standardized rating scales and comprehensive evaluations to determine the needs of patients with bipolar disorder. Once evaluated, patients are provided medication management services as well as individual therapy, group therapy and marital/couples therapy as needed/appropriate. Center for the Treatment and Study of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

The Center for the Treatment and Study of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder offers specialized care for adults impacted by obsessive-compulsive disorder. Care includes comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, individual treatment plans, evidence-based pharmacotherapy (medication management) and psychotherapy (individual and group), maintenance therapy, relapse prevention, education and supportive resources. The center also conducts cutting-edge research and provides treatment for related conditions, including self-limiting perfectionism, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder and body dysmorphic disorder. Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

The Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Program at Zucker Hillside is among the oldest, most experienced and active in the nation. Services include psychiatric ECT consultation, as well as patient and family support. The treatment is appropriate for patients with serious depression who cannot be safely treated with antidepressant medication and those with serious depression or bipolar disorder who have not responded to other treatments. ECT is also appropriate for patients with serious catatonia, and some patients with schizophrenia.
Geriatric Psychiatry Outpatient Program

The Geriatric Psychiatry Outpatient Program offers comprehensive mental health services for older adults. Therapy and medication management are provided for diverse conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders and dementia disorders. Support is also available for the families of geriatric patients of the program. Most major insurances are accepted.
The Senior Treatment Enhanced Program (STEP) is a service within the geriatric clinic that offers brief subacute care for older adults. It serves either as a transitional setting for the recently discharged older adult psychiatric patients or as an alternative to acute psychiatric inpatient hospitalization. STEP includes individual and group psychotherapy sessions that older adults can attend several times a week. Most major insurances are accepted.
PACE (Progressive Alternative Clinic Experience)

The Progressive Alternative Clinic Experience (PACE) is a clinically intensive, time-limited program for adults that’s focused on helping patients stabilize worsening symptoms while providing more support than a traditional clinical setting. Patients have access to a flexible schedule of services and groups, individual sessions, medication management and case management. Services are provided two to four days a week for one to two hours each day. Most major insurances are accepted.
Perinatal Psychiatry Services

The Perinatal Psychiatry Outpatient Program was developed to address the needs of new and expectant moms experiencing mental health issues. Services are available for those who develop psychiatric symptoms during pregnancy, are struggling with unexpected pregnancy outcomes such as miscarriage, or are pregnant or postpartum with complicated medical or social issues. Services are also offered to those who are facing challenges associated with children born with complex medical issues.

The Early Treatment Program (ETP)

The Early Treatment Program (ETP) is an innovative clinical and research program specifically designed for teenagers and young adults who are experiencing psychotic symptoms for the first time. ETP is the largest grant-funded OnTrackNY site in the state, through which we’re able to provide care for some participants regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Our team provides comprehensive evaluations and specialized, evidenced-based services including medication management and cognitive remediation, as well as individual, group and family therapy. We strive to help young people throughout their recovery and provide support for them to achieve their personal goals. Most major insurances are accepted.
The LAI/Clozapine Program

The Long-Acting Injectables (LAIs) and Clozapine Program includes medication interventions that are valuable tools in the treatment of a broad range of psychiatric disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians and registered nurses has the expertise and experience to manage the prescribing and administration of these specialized medications. There is an on-site phlebotomy (bloodwork) lab with daily walk-in hours to manage blood draws for patients on clozapine. Most major insurances are accepted.

Addiction Recovery Services (ARS)

Addiction Recovery Services (ARS) offers comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient treatment for those 18 and older who misuse substances—and we also treat their families. Care is provided by an experienced multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers. ARS also aims to explore possible associated mental health problems and other underlying causes. This program offers medication management along with individual and group psychotherapy. Specializations include a dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) track, a young adult track and a focus on significant others. DWI evaluations are also offered as needed. Far Rockaway Treatment Center

The Far Rockaway Treatment Center, licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and accredited by the Joint Commission, provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment services to adults and youth 13 and older. We offer a full continuum of outpatient services, including comprehensive assessment and referral; psychiatric consultation and medication management; evidence-based interventions; individual, group, marital and family therapies; medication-assisted treatment (MAT); trauma-informed care; gender-specific treatment; and other supportive services. Specialized services are available to those with co-occurring mental health disorders, as well as those with DWIs and other mandated service recipients, and are also available in Spanish.

Opioid Treatment Program

The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) offers a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder. The program includes individual and group therapy, along with medication management to support patients’ recovery; vocational and peer services are also available. Specialized services include ancillary withdrawal services for patients suffering from moderate opiate withdrawal and care coordination for those living with hepatitis C. Collaborative services are provided for women who require perinatal care, including a mother and child group. OTP is an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program as well, and certified overdose prevention training is provided to all patients and their significant others, as well as to the hospital and community. Project Outreach provides comprehensive care to adults and their families to help them cease substance misuse and decrease the risk of becoming chemically dependent. The objective is to reduce substance misuse as much as possible. Our program provides the most up-to-date treatment through ongoing staff education, research and a steady focus on current issues impacting the community.
Wellbridge

Wellbridge treatment center helps those 18 and older with drug and alcohol addictions and any co-occurring disorders. The center has partnered with Northwell to offer comprehensive care, including substance use disorder rehabilitation, stabilization and aftercare planning.
Wellbridge uses an innovative Research Assisted Recovery Emphasis (R.A.R.E.) approach to create personalized treatment plans so every patient can recover from addiction—and sustain that recovery. A fully integrated care team provides treatments such as medical interventions, individual and group therapy, and support and counseling (to improve things like sleep, nutrition and physical activity).
